Ken Bearcroft is remembered with great affection, for all that he strived so hard to achieve for the Local Area of the Parkstone Bay Association…. where he was a tireless, proactive member for more than 45 years (d.2018); when he served with distinction as a Member of the Committee, Chair and was the Association’s first President.
Ken also had a significant part in South Poole Chairs Liaison Group, which brought together various organisations.
For several years, I used to join with Ken, and sometimes a group of other supporters, to walk part of the shore of the Blue Lagoon, from the iron gate by the Lilliput Sailing Club, along the shoreline & marshland to the mole…past the harbour shore-end of Footpath 76 (leading from Elms Avenue), to emerge by the Parkstone Yacht Club; then to continue on foot, so that we had circumnavigated the layout of the Elms Estate, that Ken loved so much!
To celebrate Ken’s life and contribution to the area, it is planned that a tree will be planted by the entrance to the Whitecliff Car Park (under the canopy of a large tree), to be accompanied by a small plaque dedicated to his service, funded by kind donations.
This will take place on Saturday 25th January at 10am. All are welcome to join PBA members.
