Remit
To uphold & develop further the stated aims, goals & objectives, promoted by our Community …
General Aims
0.1To take any opportunities that may arise to influence BCP Council’s Consultation Documents and its Policy Statements.
0.2To identify, describe & expound those elements of the Character of our Area which are considered significant.
0.3To monitor & make representation to BCP Council about the condition of roads, pavements and traffic flow measures.
0.4To have regard to Planning Applications in respect to the Localism Act and opinions of local residents affected.
0.5To formulate specific objections wherein Planning Applications are considered detrimental to our perspectives.
0.6To actively encourage /require the local authority to secure & upkeep our Public Rights of Way + Open Spaces.
0.7To support the Schools within our locality; recognise their purpose & objectives; and the safety of their pupils…
0.8To liaise closely in our community with the police, to bring aspects to their attention and recognise their effort.
0.9To appreciate the importance of the role of local shops, places of entertainment + worship have in our locality.
1.0To identify and maintain strong links with other voluntary groups & assocs., whilst promoting our organisation.
Goals
1.1Hold an Annual Open Meeting - for the Committee and its Officers to report to Members of our Association.
1.2Recognise /report /acknowledge the various work undertaken by our Association during the course of the year.
1.3Maintain the Minute Book to record our Committee and other Meetings formally convened by our Association.
1.4Where appropriate, publicise this work, business as minuted & the achievements of the Assoc. on our website
1.5Elect /re-elect Officers including a Chair and a Treasurer to prepare books for the Accountant to audit annually.
1.6Conduct meetings for the Committee to be chaired and recorded to attend to its business & matters of the day.
1.7Provide the opportunity for individual residents (or collectively) to address our Committee prior to its meetings.
1.8Involve our three sets of local Councillors & other area representatives (e.g. SPCLG) in our Association’s matters.
1.9Build worthwhile relationships with the Officers of BCP Council, where these will explain & further our perspectives.
2.0Wherever possible present a positive & progressive image to the wider general public through the media.
A Range of Selected Objectives
2.1Conserve and protect the view from Evening Hill, and maintain the free public access to this viewpoint.
2.2Support the strategic environmental benefits of Parkstone Golf Course as an amenity and green corridor.
2.3Ensure that the access to our Beaches + open shoreline remains free of charge to residents & visitors alike.
2.4Conserve the verdant settings within our area, and adopt a sensible consensus to Tree Management Policy.
2.5Campaign for the regulation of shoreline enterprises e.g. kite surfing & paddle boarding by Shore Road etc.
2.6Strive to recognise, record & promote the historical + cultural identities of Lilliput Village + Salterns etc.
2.7Take an active interest in the provision of public transport in our area and the availability of taxi services.
2.8Encourage the provision of medical & dental practices, hospices + care homes accessible to local residents.
2.9Take proactive regard of traffic calming measures & policing within our area; inc. PRoWs + Promenades.
3.0Be aware of the needs of people with disabilities and the specialist provision that must always be regarded.
3.1Support the remit of the local Neighbourhood Watch Group in securing our safe and protected environs.
3.2Promote the safe delivery / collection of children from our local schools (esp. in maintaining vehicle laws).
3.3Have cognisance of potential unnecessary noise & other unacceptable disruptions to local residents’ lives.
3.4Protect Community Assets that exist just beyond DLC, but benefit residents e.g. Libraries & Post Offices.
3.5Recognise the significance of local amenities - allotments, planted verges & greenspace for our Community.
3.6Have regard to good, readily-available provision of telecom and IT facilities / networks that serve our Area.
3.7Promote and derive benefit from the range of shops, other outlets, garage & the petrol station in our Area.
3.8Continue to develop a positive rapport with Schools, Churches & Youth Movements etc. in our Locality.
3.9Look to maintain good relationships with neighbouring LRAs, Organisations, Charities & Religious Entities.
4.0Extol, expound & explore the benefits of our website in generating local interest + membership of DLC.
