Privacy Notice

Your personal information is not automatically stored or captured when you visit our website, only your IP address is automatically captured by the web server.

We employ safe protocols for website browsing, encrypted communication and transfer of Personal Data (such as HTTPS and SSL/TLS). In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

We use any Personal Data you provide us on legitimate grounds and/or with your consent in order to identify and to interact with you, and to fulfil our services and obligations as a Residents Association.

Where personal data is voluntarily provided through our online contact form or Membership Application form, or by otherwise contacting us, that data may be used only for the purposes for which you specifically provided the information.

Where personal data is voluntarily provided in the course of becoming a Member of Dorset Lake Community (DLC) that data will be used in the following ways:

  • Your full name, address, telephone number and email address will be securely stored by our Treasurer, and made available only to other members of the Executive Committee that may need that data (in part or in full) in order to fulfil their duties;
  • Your full name and email address will be securely stored on a password-protected database within our automated email account on the MailChimp platform. It is not used for any other purpose than to send you news updates related to the DLC area, and will be erased when you either (i) choose to ‘unsubscribe’ to our newsletters should you wish to (there is that option at the bottom of each newsletter), or (ii) cease to be a Member of the Dorset Lake Community.
  • Your full name and email address will be accessible to a trusted third party for Processing in order for us to provide the news service described above (item B). We only ever work with Processing partners who can ensure an adequate level of protection to your Personal Data.

We will never sell, share or rent any part of your Personal Data with any other third party unless required to do so by law or where in good faith we believe such action is necessary to comply with a legal process.
